Continuous Handrail Fittings

The continuous handrail system comprises a number of fittings which allow the handrail to flow uninterrupted over newels and spindles. The system covers changes in height and direction and is suitable for most staircase configurations.

A number of the fittings are available in both the Heavy HDR handrail profile and the Light LHR profile.

All handrail fittings are supplied overlong to suite the majority of staircase pitches and configurations and will need to be cut down to suite individual requirements.

A Volute is an elegant and stylish way to start your handrail.

If space is limited or a simpler look is desired, the opening cap will form an elegant start to a continuous handrail.

Turns

The continous handrail system means that any turns or winds in your staircase can be easily catered for, whilst maintaining the continuous flow of the handrail.

The HC is used where a handrail is required to turn through 90o or 180o. It is drilled underneath to allow use with the continuous handrail newel post.

The HT is used mainly at the top of the stairs where the landing returns 180o. It can also be used on a first floor landing, where the balustrading turns through 90o and a corner landing newel is not required.

Upeasings, Overeasings and Vertical Turns

These components allow vertical changes in the handrail, for example where there are winding turns in the staircase.

Upeasings

Upeasings are used with vertical turns when the handrail needs to gain extra height. They can also be used to give wall mounted handrails more shape.

Straight Cap

The maximum distance we recommended between landing newels is 2400mm. If landings exceed this measurement, newels will be required to provide additional stability. The straight cap provides a seamless link for the handrail over mid-newels.
